The Open Door Café meets your needs by customizing your event to your particular style, tastes and budget rather than simply offering plan A, B or C.

A catering and event planner will meet with you personally to gather information about you and your event. We discern your likes, dislikes, and personal favorites, as well as any ideas you already have for your event. If the party is in your home, we are available to offer suggestions for service and flow.

We will then discuss your party with our Chef and management team and develop a menu customized just for you. We will take into consideration your preferences but will also ensure that the items you have requested are practical for your event. There are certain dishes that may not be conducive to your event setup, venue or season of the year. Quality is always our first concern. Rather than give you something that would be less than perfect, we would rather explain why something you’ve asked for would not be favorable and offer a substitution.

Do you wish to host a party in your home but don’t have all the “party items” required? Need assistance with layout design and do not relish the work that goes along with planning, preparing and hosting? Would you like to plan a party and then simply be there to host and enjoy the party and your guests without the hours of preparation and cleanup normally involved? If so, ask about our full­-range party services. We are available to visit your home to lend our expertise to plan your party from layout to menu. Our full­-range party service includes the following:

  • In­-home visit by ODC event staff to plan your event theme and menu and suggest the best setup and party flow design
  • Arrangement for pre­-party cleaning of the event area
  • Delivery and setup of all items such as tables, chairs, linens, serving equipment, etc.
  • Service by ODC professional staff during the event
  • Post-­event cleanup

Serving Equipment

For non-staffed events, there is a minimum $50 deposit required for the use of café equipment for (non-disposable food pans, chafing dishes, etc.) for hot food service.


On-Site Staffing

On-site staffing is available at a cost of $30/hour per staff person.  Hours are charged door-to-door.  This price does not include any optional gratuity you may wish to present to on-site staff as you desire.
